Motorola evaluation boards
Motorola released a series of low cost evaluation boards for the MC6800 series of micro-processors and this enabled a lot of enthusiasts to start learning to program and use microcomputers in the mid to late 1970s. The price of personal computers dropped in the early 1980s reducing the demand for these boards, but they continued to be useful teaching aids through the 1980s.
